What's annoying is that where I live (which is sort of at the end of the projected course), so we're expected to get rain and possibly some wind and I guess potentially lose power depending on the strength of this thing, people are still freaking out and buying all the gas in sight for some reason. The gas went up a little because of Harvey demolishing Houston, but I'm pretty sure we don't get any gas supply from Florida, so it shouldn't affect gas. But still everyone is freaking out and it's hard to find gas now. Water and bread are hard to find on the shelves now, too.

yeah but deregulations on safety precautions could well have led to that shutdown in texas. it was arguably preventable. maybe they're just anticipating the same. wise imho.
