But this just isn't the case if you remember conversations Dumbledore had with Harry lol. Especially about the nature of prophecies. You need to ignore those discussions for this to make any sense. For instance, remember Dumbledore talking about how it wasn't the prophecy making Harry want Voldemort dead? And how it was because of the way Voldemort himself reacted to the prophecy? And how it was over the fact Voldemort killed his parents, and thus of course that made Harry want to kill him?
Even Harry dying wasn't due to any prophecy, it was due to him having a piece of Voldemorts soul. It HAD to happen for Voldemort to truly die. So he wasn't telling Snape "kids gotta die because I heard a prophecy".
It wasn't even Harry on his own defeating Voldemort lol. Smarter and more skilled people were involved as well.
Dumbledore kept many things from Harry though. He made sure Harry didn't know he had to let Tom kill him until RIGHT before he had to do it.
Voldemort chose who the prophecy was about but that doesn't mean it wasn't accurate. Voldemort could have chosen Neville and the prophecy would've still been intact just with a different "Chosen One". Vold chose the child
The prophecy predicted the events that occurred. Harry being born at the specified time and to the parents siring him, Voldemort marking him as his equal, him having a power Vold knows not, neither can live while the other survives. All that was 100% accurate. All the additional details fall within the over arching prophecy.
Harry had help yes but it needed to be Harry that beat him and Albus clearly believed it. He wouldn't have helped to pave the way for Harry if he didn't think Harry was the one the do it.
