Who has suffered the most when it comes to comics (Emotional Pain)

Hulk?

Thor. They changed his whole mythos

Mr Immortal

Old Marvel Comic Book Fans that continue to read Current SJW Marvel Comics?

Surfer? The burden of whole planets, whole civilizations, billions of beings being murdered resting on his superpacifistic conscience?

Hard to say, given Soarin' Norrin is not an acting-out type.

Wolverine

Seeing Jane with Scott every day...

Superman, because he's not Batman.

Didn't he help Galactus destroy some of those worlds?

At the very least, he found them and notified his boss, "Dinner's ready."

Just off the Top of my head I have to go with:

5. Batman
4. Wolverine
3. Thanos
2. Spawn (Al Simmons)
1. The Silver Surfer

Superman suffers the emotional pain of being better than everyone else.

Eternity.

Every other event he's body jacked or destroyed.

Daredevil?

It's kind of Spider-Man's schtick to be emotionally put-upon, but I'm not sure he's objectively above some of these other excellent answers. Most heroes have lost a TON, so quantifying it becomes impossibly subjective.

Volstagg tried to kill the entire fire demon race for what happened to those elven children.

superman during the end of the emperor joker arc. taking on all of batmans pain and suffering because he is too weak of a character to do so.

Wanted to expand on this:

Batman

-Death of his parents at an early age
-Isolation from society, secret identity causes constant interference in his life
-Romantic attachments to unstable women such as Catwoman
-Romantic attachments to evil woman such as Talia al Ghul
-His son Damian hated him for a long time

-Never sees eye to eye with the rest of the Justice League
-Wants peace, but can't bring himself to kill dangerous enemies like the Joker
-Feels completely responsible for the safety of Gotham City
-May not be entirely mentally stable himself
-Possible confusion over his own sexuality, but that's debatable...

Harley Quinn

-Unstable to begin with, never had any real friends
-Has never fit into society, has never been understood
-In love with the Joker, a complete psychopath
-Suffers from abusive stockholm syndrome
-In denial of her own insanity and relationship with the Joker
-Fell in love with Poison Ivy, another psychopath
-Has never really achieved anything close to mental stability

Wolverine

-Has lived longer than he's wanted to, and has seen many loved ones die
-Hates Cyclops, has a love hate relationship with Xavier
-Loves Jean Grey, even though that was a tormenting relationship
-Has been physically tortured numerous times
-Has been through emotional torture his entire life
-Has never found peace
-Has faced discrimination as a mutant his whole life
-Has been treated as an experiment / animal by powerful forces
-The X-Men do not understand him, neither for the Avengers
-He's been a lone wolf most of his life
-Died a painful and lonely death

Thanos

-Born with Deviant Syndrome and thus was an outcast on Titan
-Fell in the shadow of his favored brother Eros
-Never understand why he existed or why Life was so painful
-Fell in love with Mistress Death, an entity who can never truly love him back
-Committed genocide against his own people
-Killed his own mother, the only person who ever really loved him
(and he knows that)
-Has died multiple times
-Has achieved Godhood several times, and STILL has no happiness
-Subconciously feels unworthy of existence
-Hates himself, and always has
-Tried to change, to become a good person, and failed
-Regrets leaving offspring behind on several worlds
-Is virtually immortal and does not want to be

Spawn (Al Simmons)

- Suffers from severe PTSD from his brutal military past
- Suffers subconscious PTSD from killing his unborn child
- Has been to Hell and back numerous times
- Has died numerous times
- Rejected by Heaven, and hunted by Heaven many times
- Has always wanted Wanda Blake, but never truly had her
- Has been harassed, stalked, and tormented by the forces of Heaven and Hell
- Held prisoner by the Greenworld several times
- Met God only to find out that God was evil (was retconned since)
- Loses every woman he loves
- Lost his best friend Terry Fitzgerald
- His unborn daughter turned out to be a demon (Morana)
- His mother belonged to a demonic cult
- His brothers were pawns in a demonic plot
- His father never really knew him, didn't care about him either
- Wanda Blake, the love of his life, died in a riot
- Angela, his angelic lover, was killed by Malebolgia (before Marvel bought her)
- He has no one, not even himself
- No matter how many times he dies, he is never FREE, not may he ever be
- He knows the Universe doesn't care about him, that he's just a pawn and nothing more...

The Silver Surfer

- Gave up his cherished life in order to save his world
- Lives with the torment of killing hundreds of worlds while he served Galactus
- Lost Shalla Bal, the love of his life, too many times
- Was harassed and tormented by the demon Mephisto endlessly
- Has been harassed and tormented by the Mad Titan Thanos too many times
- The people of Zenn-La hate him
- He was caught up on the Kree / Skrull conflict for years
- He lost Nova, another herald whom he loved
- He lost the Mantis, a cosmic entity whom he loved
- He's lived longer than he's wanted to
- He lived in so much torment, he asked Galactus to wipe his memory clean
- His empathy levels make him far more susceptible to pain than normal
- He already achieved Enlightenment on Zenn-La, and even that was not enough to free him of his tormented life
- He is so tormented that even Moondragon admitted she never met anyone with more suffering than the Silver Surfer in all her travels
- He is so tormented that Adam Warlock tried numerous times to help him find peace, even though Warlock has his own torment
- He is so tormented, that even the psychopath Thanos felt sorry for him

Robin.

Any of them.

Cyclops:

All jokes aside though, he definitely has a case for being one of the worst-off X-Men.
