Well this was a...gigantic waste of time.

Not too familiar with Wildcats.

Both characters have a degree of superhuman str/dur at their base, right?

Yeah.
Maul'd lose IQ the bigger/stronger he became.

What Riv said. Maul has quite a bit at his peak. Issue is he's dumb as a rock when he reaches levels that can hang with anyone beyond about mid meta. I think I remember him even rocking Cpt. Atom for a hot second before being CIS'd into oblivion.

Technically though, at his "base" he's a puny dweeb but is super smart. Most times he's somewhere in between, around Thing/Colossus level.

I know nothing about Atlas so I can't comment on the OP fight, though.

Edit: he's still pretty functional, and is packing the mass of an aircraft carrier in his fist (maybe hyperbole?) So I'd say he's above Atlas.
