Tbh I think Obi Wan takes a majority against Mace in sabers only as well.

Lucas' rating systems takes precedent over any Legends developments.

For example:

If a hundred books allude to Y > X, but Lucas states X > Y, then, factually, X > Y.

That being said, Mace has enough in Legends to place him above Obi-Wan anyway.

Kenobi's victory over Grievous wasn't really because of superior speed.
