Everyone's favorite!

I love the Pianist and Saving Private Ryan, but you didn't mention the best:

Full Metal (fucking) Jacket

According to the rating and reviews I think Schindler's List is considered to be the best. The true story of Holocaust will definitely make anyone think about the history that happened some time back.

I can't get into war movies. I can see why Schindler's List and Saving Pvt Ryan are good, they just bore me. FMJ was entertaining for the first 45 minutes, but the second half is just depressing

Apocalypse Now is a favorite of mine. A true classic.

I've been meaning to rewatch Platoon. It's been a long time since I saw it.

Fury was a pretty good war flick. With Brad Pitt and Shia Laboooooof.

Truly an Underrated War Movie Classic...

Saving Private Ryan is good, the Patton movie is good too. Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse now of course too.

I found myself preferring war documentaries though. WW2 in HD is great.

Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down are pretty good.

War movies for me are hard to watch because as a combat veteran there is too many inaccurate things to digest.
