It is not as if it would be foolish of others to accept ordinary or unflattering claims one makes about himself. All he would succeed at is convincing people that he is a loser. What a clever ruse. When I posted that it was a trick, cue the accusations of "being caught." So you kind of do have to clue someone in on your gotcha games.
