Mass Shootings in America Thread

do you really believe that your forced strawman meme is a suitable retort to the reasonable point i just made? cute.

No, you don’t like people saying thoughts and prayers and then not taking action.

And I don’t like people saying “WE GOTTA DO SOMETHING” to try and guilt me into bad policy by suggesting if I disagree I just don’t care enough about children.

So you’re whining about “thoughts and prayers” because you don’t like the policy stances of people who say it

And we whine about “WE GOTTA DO SOMETHING” because we don’t agree with the policy stances of people who say it.

No, he is saying condolences do not provide changes, perhaps we could find a way to prevent/minimize mass shootings in the future.

Of course, there is causation which is much harder to narrow down and legislate, then we have the other side what items do say nut jobs use to achieve said outcomes....much easier to legislate.

Yes and I don’t agree with banning semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 and I will not be guilted into supporting policy I don’t agree with with the implication that if I don’t agree “I just don’t care enough”

Right, except that the arguments for gun control are typically far more nuanced than your strawman caricature, whereas the 'thoughts and prayers' is something that most conservatives actually do, whilst trying to minimize the problem and play petty semantics.

wrong thread.

i do appreciate the comedic irony that posting "thoughts and prayers" in the context of national tragedy is, by far, the most tired and ineffectual form of virtue signalling.

2 killed at Central Michigan University, gunman 'armed and dangerous' still at large

edit: My bad, only two were killed, I think it has to be four to be a mass shooting.

Aww boo hoo. The truth is leftists whine about thoughts and prayers being pointless while at the same time doing all kinds of pointless shit in their everlasting tantrum over Trump.

The true comedy is you've deluded yourself into somehow believing otherwise lol.

Awful.

I want all guns to be banned just so I can go out and start trolling for the banning of knives when mass stabbings become a thing.

Lol bullshit. The arguments tend to verge on the hysterical and uninformed. We saw proof of this after the Florida shooting. Several false or misleading talking points were spread by both some of the media outlets and by some of the survivors of the shooting who were propped up by CNN.

Knives kill just as many, if not more, people per year as rifles.

Not as many as Alcohol though 😉

Also deaths from purely physical violence are higher as well.

Yeah, knives also kill more people than nuclear weapons. So that makes knives equally dangerous to nukes if not more so right?

This is a dishonest use of statistics
