I dont know what normal conditions are supposed. Non stressful fights? Not to mention, as it only has one showing, it becomes the standard level for the attack. Like the super flare.

Thought you were done?

Nonstressful fights.

😂

As much as I love the Silver Surfer, and although I place Silver Surfer as a more powerful entity than Superman, I have to go with Darkseid on this one.

From my experience reading DC, classics and current, over-all, despite all the writing contradictions and artist decisions, I think ultimately Darkseid takes this battle. It will be a great battle, not an easy one, but Darksied with his god-like strength and power should be able to defeat a herald like the Silver Surfer.

In all honestly, Superman should have never been able to defeat Darksied as many times as he has in the comic books, but because of the need for sales, writers will put forth whatever stories suit their needs.

Or maybe, just maybe Superman is that powerful.

How about that?

And Surfer isn't even as powerful as Superman much less far more powerful.

Superman is a 10, Surfer at his best is a 6.

According to canon, Superman never defeated Darkseid. It was an Avatar. Abhi I heard this from another poster, can you clarify?

Kind of a moot point because the feats used to put Darkseid around the skyfather tier were performed by avatars.

The true form of Darkseid resides in a different dimension and Supes only really faced that at the end of FC.

Avatar-Darkseid is the Darkseid as we know him.

Tricksterpriest wouldn't shut up about the ****ing avatars.

Ahhh, okay I get. So to piece this all together, Death of the New Gods was poor writing on Starlin's part although it set the stage for Final Crisis, which in and of itself makes no sense because we never got to see New Genesis merged with Apokolips, and Darkseid and Orion did not die during DOTNG as shown since they reappeared later in Final Crisis. Now even though I did my best to piece this together, DOTNG still set the stage for Final Crisis, which still makes very little sense, and Starlin is hardly to blame since DC only gave him a mini series to work with. LOL DC keep on doing what you do.

The argument made is that the low showings are inadmissible as they're avatars.

The high showings? If a weaker DS could do it, then...

DS is DS 😈

DOTNG was retcon by Morrison.

Also stop the LOL DC skit, it’s not really funny. I can turn around and say LoL Marvel, for the dumb shits Starlin’s done with Thanos, and their SJW series.

I wouldn't care either way. Readers need concrete definitions in order to make heads or tails of what is canon and what is not. As it stands DOTNG set the stage for Final Crisis, and there isn't or wasn't a thing that Morrison could do to straighten it out. Redirect your anger to where it should be directed to.

If you don’t care, don’t bring it up.

Again, Morrison retcon DOTNG.

The same can be said about Marvel not having there shits together.

Countdown to final crisis was also a lead in to the main event

All theee stories: Death of new gods, final crisis and countdown all contradicted themselves. But final crisis was the focal point

At least Starlin ruined his own child with Thanos.

I'll never forgive him for what he did to Bizarro Superman and Captain Comet.. (Turned the latter into a coward, and the former he just ruined completely..

I have no problem with people using DOTNG due to how apparently now almost everything in DC is canon, but it is NOT a good comic for anything more than some nice Superman feats.

Starlin made a ****ing mess of it.

Starlin had Superman get his arse kicked four or five times in that story. 😂

I give him credit for sneaking his way past the "be respectful" clause, and deliver more pain then Super Dave Osborn got an episode.

He doesn't have to win to look impressive. He went up against people that realistically should be above his grade, and did better than I would have imagined.

Not sure if you understood the reasoning behind my first post? If Darkseid, and I mean the real Darkseid is supposed to be as powerful as a fully fed Galactus when he was the eating planets, why in the world is this not thread 11 pages long? I don't care much about how you feel about DC or marvel for that matter, I'd just like to know when the true Darkseid got on the stage, and what Darkseid is being used in this very thread. If you want to take it to the extreme, write to Marvel about the SJW stuff, and whatever else they do that bugs you. One thing that I've noticed about DC is that whenever they paint themselves into a corner because of contradictions we get another Crisis event.

As for this thread, how can anyone argue that Darkseid wouldn't destroy the Surfer with ease? Then again, after all of the years that Darkseid has existed I'm not sure if anyone is certain of exactly what power level he is on? Also just relax, we're talking about fictional characters here.

For feats, it was a good run.

As a writer, I don't imagine that perverse pleasure at Supes being bludgeoned between two ridiculously large planets was from the satisfaction of making him look good. 🙂

I mean, he even had the Source say "Just checked you for brain damage. You've been running into cosmic trucks a lot today. 😱

Well that's kind of my point. He might have gotten punched around a bit, but it was who that was punching him around that was important.

And it's still a shit arc either way.

Three Crises in thirty years (four if you count undoing the new 52) is in no way excessive, imo.
