This is very easy to prove or disprove (or is it):
Americans are in the bottom 10 of the 140 countries measured:

Americans are less happy than 30 years ago:

Okay, so 50% of the video's premise has been established. I give up the gratefulness index. That's just too hard to qualify and self-reports would probably be rubbish.
So I cannot really disapprove the video's point but they cannot prove their point about Americans being less grateful. So...there's nothing to talk about?

Dude, dude... CHECK this out, right? People in the same cultures can also describe happiness to mean "different things!" WHOA, right?

Bump.
Anyone have the other half that supports or refutes the ungratefulness piece? I mean, if it says "unhappy people are always ungrateful", that's perfect. I could not find research that either supported or denied that point.

All that would matter would be anything supporting it and, no, there's not. Just some ridiculous "philosophical" position by a talk show host.

Bingo, this is what fans of these "talking heads" don't get. The opinion of a talking head has no greater veracity than anybody else's unless they have facts and evidence to back up what they are saying. Which they never do, they only have an interpretation that fits their world view
