The Brand can run with the true personification of the Phoenix Force, or at least an iteration of the Brand. It's very powerful if the user fully understands how to use it.

Why would he ever evolve to that? Nothing is actually pushing him that way. Doomsday evolves to a relevant threat, he doesn't just whip up a fly swatter when it is durability, or strength that would be needed to vanquish the problem.

Marvel NOW Starbrand is all over the place showing wise. On the one hand, GR's Penance Stare KOs him. Then you have him going toe to toe against 3 villains empowered by abstracts (one of those abstracts being Entropy!).

Like I said, he's all over the place. He was up against 3 villains backed by the power of three universal level abstracts :

He was more or less holding his own till he got distracted when he had a premonition of his girlfriend in danger.

Then you have him getting KOed by Ghost Rider's Penance Stare. So....

That wasn't the Starbrand's weakness, it was the users. It should also be noted that Kevin wasn't the Starbrand in that particular fight against the Rider.
