Superman's greatest combat partner

Carver.

Argues against him so much, and pops so many scans, he's probably a closet cultist.

Superman has to choose one of these guys to partner up with to fight a mysterious, unknown threat. Who is he most likely to pick?

Kara
Diana
Billy
Barry
Wally
Hal
John
Guy
Kyle
J'onn
Lobo
Orion

Logically, Hal.

In a comic, it would be Diana, because 2017.

Re: Re: Superman's greatest combat partner

Hal's a good one.

But I prefer J'onz. He's essentially the professional second for mains.

J'onn.
Superman's best when he has a strong leader to tell him what needs doing. 👆

👆

Superman is also at his best when he needs to rescue J'onn from big bad.

Yeah, those who cant lead save those who can. Supes knows his role.

Yes agreed but trust wouldn't be his only criteria.

Clark is great friends with Hal and Barry also and he may think their abilities are more all purpose in an unknown situation.

hal would be his second choice imo, and again, i'm not sure second would be very close. logically hal might be the best choice, but again, in character, diana would be the one and it's not like her abilities are insignificant. speed/strength/magic are good answers to most situations. /shrug

Lobo can be trusted to follow agreed to terms. He has some honor and his word is important to him.

What happens afterwards may be another story though.

mmm

Yeah, I can certainly see where they might experience some friction later on ...

Yeah, Lobo always ends up getting his shit kicked in by Superman.

Always

Minus the times he didn't. But always is clearly the right word choice.

Oh right, one time mindcontrolled Superman must be the average.

Adventures of Superman annual 2 and 4? Superman man of steel 30? LEGION annual 1? LEGION 65? Superman/Lobo? Justice League vs Suicide Squad?

Every time Superman either beats Lobo down or makes a mockery out of him.

lordy lord.

> Replies with a scan where Superman is under Eclipso domination.
> Back tracks his always statement, with average showings.

Buddy just stop try to hype up Superman so much, and pick the right words.

Not all mindcontrolled showings are the same. Eradicator turned Superman into kryptoninan mindset which at that time had no idea how to fight.

Eclipsed Superman was just bloodlusted Superman.

Anytime Superman goes against Lobo in right mind, he always beats the shit out of Lobo. Even his creator Keith Griffen had Superman beat the shit out of Lobo and only his healing factor helping him to stay in the fight.

Yeah, should've said anytime Superman knows how to fight, he kicks the shit out of Lobo.

Ahbi always up/down plays to favor a Superman debate.

Always.

Billy

Hes the most poweful guy after superman

Wonder Woman is the correct answer.

The people arguing that Superman generally prizes relationship more than sheer practicality are right. Nearly half of Nu52, for instance, showed Wonder Woman paired with him. She'd be first choice. She is both potential life partner AND trusted longtime friend.

By similar reasoning, however, Supergirl will be near the bottom of the list near Lobo.

This is not because Clark doesn't like or trust Kara.
Quite the contrary-- it's because as his "little cousin", Superman's desire is to "protect" Kara, even though she's more powerful than all but a handful here.

Hal Jordan gets the nod over all other Green Lanterns, but so MIGHT Barry, at least if flight is not an issue.

Orion, Guy Gardner, and Lobo end our list for fairly obvious reasons.

1. Diana Prince
2. Hal Jordan
3. J'onn J'onnz
4. Billy Batson
5. Barry Allen
6. John Stewart
7. Wally West
8. Kyle Rayner
9. Kara Zor-eL
10. Orion
11. Guy Gardner
12. Lobo

I suddenly wonder, now that the memory of a Brave and the Bold team-up with Supergirl actually happened in Mark Waid's 2006-2008 arc, and the unique talent of Lobo was to track a man even through a magic maze designed to throw of all pursuers, and Lobo's senses actually enabled him to defeat that, if Lobo is of use against opponents with shape shifting, invisibility, and/ or telepathic shielding and/or telepathic confusion in their arsenal. With a way to defend himself and others against mind control, and the aforementioned cloning and regeneration abilities, Lobo would be THE goto choice for, say, a full-scale invasion of White Martians ...
