It's about as silly as claiming Palpatine couldn't use a light saber prior to the prequels. We know he can we just haven't seen him do so. He doesn't need to here since he can dominate with the force alone. He can disarm Maul at will or do whatever he wants. His force power is on another level.

I never said he's superior just because of that. I'm saying they were put through the same ordeal, inflicted on them both by the same method, which Maul's dark side powers helped him survive. Snoke's obviously couldn't. So Maul's powers clearly look greater in that respect.
Now if we were to just compare TK, then obviously Snoke looks more powerful.
