He bested Sidious in a few minutes when Yoda stalemated him after a long time. Sidious killed 3 Jedi Masters instantly while fighting them simultaneously.
Aha, did you took the terrain into consideration?
It's not the samething to fight on a plain terrain with ample space to move than to fight on a small pot in where your movements are limited.

The reason Mace is so dangerous in a dual, was because of his force fighting style. Forgot the name, but when Mace fights any Sith, the stronger they use the dark side, the easier it is for Mace to best them.
Yeah, he is pretty unique in that aspect.

Yeah, he is pretty unique in that aspect.
The terrain had nothing to do with it since Mace was on the same terrain. Mace used skill to beat Sidious. It's clear as phucking day that the writer was trying to portray Mace being superior to Sidious.

Which is exactly why he won.
Mace is such a formidable swordsman because he can manage to overpower his rivals.
Also he is very calm and doesn't get distracted easily.
All of these make him a formidable adversary in a plain wide terrain.
However such a style would be bad in a terrain like the pods. In such terrains Sidious or Yoda's fast speed and maneuverability allow them to make most of such a reduce space and unstable ground.
That's why i said it depends.
Also Mace's technique would also prove useless against such a fast opponent like Yoda.
Sidious on the other hand is like in middle ground. He has both strength and speed. Reason why he was able to counter Yoda quite well. But failed to outpower Mace.
It's like a Rock, Papper, Scissors kinda a thing with these characters. Their fighting styles quite counter each other.
Okay, lets describe the Top 3's fighting styles to better understand who's the winner of the thread:
Mace Windu
Fighting Style: Form 7 modified (Vapaad).
Description: Form 7 is mainly a Sith's style of combat. Since it requires the user to apply anger and rage. However Mace Windu discovered a way to actually use his opponent's rage and anger as fuel.
This allowed Windu to be an excellent Sith counter, since he could basically use his enemies strength and turn it into a weakness.
Furthermore, Windu also learnt how to canalize his anger into his sword without affecting or clouding his judgement.
Darth Sidious
Fighting Style: Form 7 (Juyo) and Dun Moch
Description: A common fighting style amongst the Sith; Sidious mastered Juyo which allowed him to use his anger as weapon.
Dun Moch also enabled Sidious to be able to distract and create doubt on his opponent.
With both Juyo and Dun Moch Sidious was basically a fast unpredictable opponent.
Yoda
Fighting Style: Form 4 (Ataru)
Description: Ataru is characterized for its acrobatic style. It is also a very fast and demanding of energy form. It is best suited for 1vs1 combat and for wide ample spaces.
Furthermore, Ataru is often enhanced by the force. Allowing for big leaps and even levitation during combat.
Yoda is considered the Jedi to have mastered Ataru to it's highest form. His small size, agility, and extreme force knowledge allowed him to boost Ataru.
Yoda furthermore was able to fight against multiple opponents and in close quarter spaces although Form 4 was not suited for such tasks.
Conclusion:
Mace Windu: His form of fighting is clearly advantageous against Sidious. As seen in ROTS, Mace's ability to use The Lord Sith's anger and rage against himself would give him the victory over Sidious.
Sidious: His ability to combine both Form 7 and Duh Moch made him a fast unpredictable opponent. Sidious fighitng style was very versatile and adequate to face several opponents, just as seen in ROTS after killing 3 Jedi Masters.
Yoda: Mastering Form 4 plus his physical and force abilities make him a mortal opponent. Just as seen in ROTS, despite his technique being inadequate to fight in close areas, Yoda managed to counter Sidious.
Winner: Yoda.
Yoda was able to fully master Form 4. His force powers, small size, and fast speed boosted his fighting style even further.
Despite Form 4 being inadequate for close quarter fights and for facing multiple opponents, Yoda was simply the exception to this.

heres all the evidence that appears onscreen in ROTS:1. Sidious lets Anakin tell the Jedi Council about him, why would he let him do that if he wasn't setting him up for a choice?
2. When Anakin is sitting by himself in the council chamber you can hear Sidious in his head telling him the ultimatum "if I die, any chance to save her will be lost" and this is obviously not Anakin just thinking about what Sidious said because it contains completely new information that Palpatine didn't tell Anakin when they were face to face
3. Sidious kills 2 Jedi masters before Mace can even bring his blade into a defensive stance, ergo, Sidious is much faster than Windu.
4. right after he kills Fisto Sidious had Mace at blade point and doesn't thrust into a kill stroke when we know by his initial burst forward engaging the 4 masters that he's capable of doing so, why? because he's not trying to kill Mace, he's stalling for Anakins arrival.
5. when he is disarmed and backed off by Windu into a corner that just so happens to coincide with awakens arrival. In other words, from Anakins POV all he sees is Windu stalking a "helpless" Chancellor with his lightsaber aimed to kill, the Chancellor even says as much to Anakin, "help me, the Jedi are taking over!!"
6. the entire reasoning behind Palpatine unleashing lightning on mace is simple: when Mace had Sid at blade point he was still willing to arrest him, which wouldn't do for Sidious' plan to turn Anakin, he needed him to make a choice right then and there: his wife or the Jedi essentially. So he pushed Mace into wanting to kill him by unleashing Force Lightning on him, he makes it seem as if he's just defending himself from death: "don't let him kill mee" "i can't hold on any longer" "I'm too weak" Notice that its only after the lightning barrage that Mace is resolute on killing the Chancellor, thus provoking Anakin into making a snap decision.
Sidious can forsee the future, this is established throughout the 6 episodes, thats no different here, the Sith need to go through a trial of betrayal in order to become a true Sith Lord; Dooku did it by killing Sifo Dyas, Palpatine did it by killing his family, Anakin did it by killing Mace Windu...It all links up way too perfectly to think anything other than Palpatine orchestrated the entire exchange between himself and Mace Windu for the singular purpose of finally turning Anakin away from the Jedi and into a Sith Lord.
PS his melted face can be looked at in one of two ways: if you believe that is his real face then it getting exposed is no biggie, if you believe that his face really did get mangled then Sidious would still be ok with it as it was physical evidence of the attempted assassination on him by the Jedi. Either way a ****ed up face worked into his plan rather nicely as a bit of "evidence" of Jedi betrayal
Okay I will admit you really put a lot of effort in writing there.
However the biggest flaw in your "conspiracy theory" is Anakin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dATuq8O3920
Anakin knew Palpatine was Sidious. By that time Anakin was already corrupted.
Anakin was not longer a Jedi. Sidious had already corrupted him.
Yes i agree, after killing Windu Anakin was 100% Vader!
But, would Sidious risk himself against 3 Jedi and a Master Jedi just to give Anakin that little push? Nahh! That is too much speculation and really irrational.

Minute 0:35
Palpatine admits that he wasn't expecting Windu.
But who knows maybe you are right. But that is really UNLIKELY.
Besides it's not unexpected that Windu beat Sidious. I mean Windu's fighting technique was ment to counter and beat Siths.
