Guy beat down Arkillo. Without his ring.
Holy crap. 😱
Don't remember that one.
Makes sense though, as Guy claimed he used his ring to augment his body, giving him inhuman strength and such (Of course, Hal still rope 'a dope'd him, but he also beat one of those cyborg/robot enhanced members without a ring, so..)
Not even remotely comparable.
Wolverine doesn't kill in that series....nor does his strength level/durability even remotely compare to Arkillo. I'm not even sure he has adamantium at that point, he doesn't pop his claws once in the entire series, so couldn't tell.
Arkillo, who fights Mongul.
And can hurl tractor thingys.

I dont read Green Lantern so can somebody tell me why Guy is so tough now? Did the ring enable him with a huge upgrade without him having to wear it or something?
Lol. No. He used heart force to beat the sh!t out of Arkillo. Pure unadulterated heart force.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps 15-16, if you're interested.
Chalk it up to PIS, I guess. Still, hilarious. And I thought cdtm would get a kick out of it.

I just chalk it up to ring augmentation.
In his brawl with Hal back in the 90's, he claimed he used his ring to change his anatomy and enhance his physical stats. Stands to reason he'd continue tweaking himself over the years, until he became a monster.

What I said to Sin. Totally forgot about Guy as a Vuldarian, even though we had a thread about it just a week ago.
But the upshot is, Guy was definitely powerful enough to hold his own with Mongul back in the day. He DID hold his own with the likes of Lobo, Major Force (Killed him, in fact), Lobo, Rampage (DC's She-Hulk) and Superman.
He also shape shifted armor and weapons, but there's no reason he wouldn't still have his super strength, even without the shape shifting or war paint.
Edit: And I just read, Guy's Vuldarian dna overwritten in Rebirth.
So much for that theory.
