He is a SJWade now. Either that or trying too hard to get everyone to like him. He's a Spider-man/Cap America fan FFS.

Srsly though, its just writers try TOO hard to make him whacky (imo).
Not everyone can write that kind of character, and as over exposed as DP is (a whooole different problem, there) you are gonna have writers handling him who just arent funny.
That leads to a lot of crappy DP on the shelves.
