Baahubali: The Beginning and The Conclusion (2015 - 2017)

I just watched the first one the other night. This is a set of big, epic Indian films. It reminded me of Troy meets Ben Hur or something. It even almost felt a little like Avatar at the beginning. It's goofy and I definitely found myself laughing at it at times, but it's highly entertaining and the first film ends with a big and violent battle sequence. It's actually impressive to see that the film only cost about $18 million to make. Maybe the conversion to the American dollar is the difference, I dunno. Anyway, I look foward to watching the second film, Baahubali: The Conclusion.

(Oddly enough I kept thinking while watching it: This director could do a John Carter adaptation justice)

Finished watching number 2. This is a marathon of epic proportions, but a fun watch for sure. He's basically some Indian superhero. I recommend. 👆

Yup I loved these films as well. Epic stories are always fun.

Sadly no, there wasn't on Netflix. Maybe on a blu-ray or something?

It's a shame, too, because with a movie as visually elegant as this one it's frustrating not being able to absorb the visuals as much because of having to read so many subtitles. I would recommend ignoring the subtitles during the songs, though, heh. I don't think it's integral to the plot and it's just frustrating.

I love this movie.

I watched it. Probably one of the biggest cloche storms ever. But it was still quite enjoyable

They had one of these on VFX Artists React
