I usually like to try to see most of the Best Pictures nominees.

LADY BIRD

PHANTOM THREAD
JoAnne Sellar, Paul Tho[/b]mas Anderson, Megan Ellison and Daniel Lupi, Producers

THE POST

THE SHAPE OF WATER

THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI
Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin and Martin McDonagh, Producers

Already seen Dunkirk and Get Out. I don't think Dunkirk deserved a nom nom quite frankly, but it has good cinematography. Get Out is fantastic. I really want to see The Shape of Water and Lady Bird.

You noticing that just looking at the list of nominees seems to be preferable to some people now, as opposed to watching the award shows? Probably because of the farce these things have become.

I do remember a time these award shows weren't cringeworthy.

It is odd Tom Hanks got no nom for The Post though.

I read the last nom he got was for Castaway.

Yeah, I'll probably skip Call Me By Your Name, as it's another movie about gay guys. It sounds like that's all it's about.

Reminds me of Moonlight that won last year and I thought that movie absolutely sucked.

Shape of Water and Three Bill Boards are the favorites IMO. Lady Bird could also get the win.

I haven't seen all of the nominees, but I think Blade Runner 2049 probably deserves Best Cinematography.

I haven't seen too many of these, as I wait until I can watch them at home, but I hope Sam Rockwell gets his and Baby Driver gets theirs.

Three Billboards does sound interesting. Great cast. Sam Rockwell does deserve major credit. He's a great actor.

I’m disappointed Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman didn’t get any

^ Oh, yeah. I haven't seen it, but I thought The Greatest Showman would get a nomination or two.

Did you see Jackmans face when he lost to James Franco at a recent award show? Golden Globes I think. He apparently threw a fit backstage after.

It almost made me wish I had watched the award show.

My bids are for the Shape of Water and Dunkirk.

I've seen all except CALL ME BY YOUR NAME and PHANTOM THREAD.

I enjoyed Shape of Water, but I can't see it winning best picture. I'd guess Ladybird, The Post or TBOEM out of the one's I've seen.

Though considering Phantom Thread is Lewis' last film, I wouldn't be surprised if that picks up loads of awards, both Best Actor and Film, cos let's face it, the Oscars are really just a High School popularity contest.

Having said that, I do really need to watch Phantom Thread, as Lewis is a epic-levels actor.

For the big four

The Shape of Water
Gary Oldman
Frances Mcdormand
Greta Gerwig

For the rest
Supporting
Sam Rockwell
Actress is up in the air
Dunkirk or Blade Runner for cinematography

No nomination for Baywatch?

#snub

where are the DC dummies to cry about Wonder woman not being nominated

Need to see Shape of Water. Kinda want that to win despite not having seen it because I like Del Torro so much.

Same here.

Dunkirk was okay. kinda boring for a war flick tho.

The Shape of Water was f*cking awesome.

Not the best film ever made, but definitely one of Del Toro's best.
