She initially got her powers out of New 52 Superman exploding, but with the Universe re-aligning, and Post-Crisis/New 52 being part of the same whole which is Rebirth Superman, the explosion/separate Supermen never happened...which leaves her history uncertain. Even the writer complained that his run was decapited in the middle of it with that development.
