Tom Hanks Starring in Mister Rogers Biopic

TriStar Pictures has landed worldwide distribution rights to the Mr. Rogers biopic “You Are My Friend,” with Tom Hanks attached to play the iconic TV personality.

i loved mister rogers as a kid. he was way more educational than the other options. i found sesame street boring and dumb, though i did of course love bert and ernie.

Rogers became the man we saw because of all the shits he saw. That changed his outlook in life.

I’ve been interested in seeing this since the news broke last year.
Hanks is one of my favorite actors (though i Haven't been interested in everything he’s done), and Mr. Rogers is a childhood feel good memory.

I love that a few sites have mentioned his son Colin actually made it to the (small) screen as Mr. Rogers first, though:

Sharing a role like that is pretty neat, imo.
