My mind went somewhere very different with the thread title, about a character who has metatextual durability. So like, twitter hatred and such actually bolsters him, so the less likeable and well-written he is, the more unbeatable he is in the comic.
I'm actually workshopping a short story (in my mind atm, but soon to be put to paper) based on that premise, and the in-world complications that arise from such a villain. Been writing more recently, and you gotta strike while the iron's hot. Thanks for the unintentional inspiration!

Mine would be called Hash. He would be HH level. He's based on popularity, so the more people love him, the more powerful he becomes.
Plot twist - despite his need to be loved, he is actually a villain. So he wants world domination - but he cannot use his powers in an overtly cruel way, constantly holding back. Otherwise, popular opinion will turn against him, and he will lose.
#Hash.
His powers include super strength, speed, durability, and the ability to project lightning. His genius level intellect also becomes accelerated, enabling him to formulate plots and tactics at superspeed.

Lol, nice. But an outline does not a story make. 😉 And there are some definite similarities, but mine's more about the fourth wall and our relationship to fictional characters, as well as groupthink and witch hunts that take place on social media, whereas it sounds like Hash is in his own self-contained world.
In any case, royalty check would imply that I get paid for my creative writing. As soon as I see a penny, you'll hear from me.
