Valkorion is also pushed back by said attack, and even if that weren't true, the first wave was hardly the strongest part of that attack as it's visibly cracking the wall well after everyone is blasted away.

Only time Outlander utilized dark barriers in a similar fashion was against Arcann, which one could also argue was done by Valkorion. After all, Outlander seemed surprised when the lightsaber strikes by Arcann were harmlessly bouncing off of him, and the fight really wouldn’t have been as close as it was if Outlander could harmlessly, effortlessly block Arcann’s lightsaber strikes all the time.

The Outlanders growth is readily apparent since they go from losing to Arcann, to beating Arcann, to losing to Vaylin, to beating a stronger Arcann, to beating a far stronger Vaylin.

Vaylin's power is purple, not the Outlanders shield. Theres no indication of Valkorion blocking anything and he outright states that he can't do anything to help you 2 seconds later.
