Setting aside all the unfortunate revelations behind them, I put Neil Gaiman over Warren Ellis.

That's not a knock on Ellis' authorship. His runs on Iron Man, Thunderbolts, Moon Knight and Castlevania are amazing. Too bad he's such a piece of shit.
