It is not situation theism, it is situational ethics. He will side with Christians if doing so will "stick it to librulz." It is the same reason he sides with anti-LGBT adoption agencies and bakers on those issues as well. I don't know if someone might have brought this up somewhere already, but a somewhat similar thing recently happened with the whole Chris Pratt-Kevin Smith heart attack thing.
