@surtur Did you just read the headline and not the story again, sport? Cos that idea that Argento can be a shit herself, but was still sexually abused by Weinstein isn't crazy. Cope harder with your MRA angle now.

Lol I read the story. Those tweets, from various celebs and people in the media, were coping hardcore.

Are you truly gonna try to argue they weren't? Do I need to start copying and pasting them?

Do whatever you like, sport. It's not going to change the reality that Weinstein is a sexual predator and abuser. No matter how hard you try.

At least you have the wisdom not to try to argue there isn't serious coping going on. Baby steps.

I don't deny that you're coping, correct there. For the record: I have never denied that.

I described this problem as the "Poisoning the Well" fallacy. She's poisoning the well, for sure. But, as far as I am aware, there's no such thing as "Post-hoc poisoning of the well" to discredit a cause. More like character assassination.

However, the MeToo stuff is legit because it looks like several pervs were toppled and removed from their creepy thrones.

Yup. But people will try, as you see.

Bingo.

The cope-a-thon continues. Rose McGowan first tweeted she was "heart broken" over this. Then she tweeted:

"None of us know the truth of the situation and I’m sure more will be revealed. Be gentle."

Lol. Just can't make this up. A tweet from her past:

I don't think it poisons MeToo. Mostly because MeToo wasn't based solely on Argento. This doesn't poison MeToo, this IS MeToo.

If anything is going to poison MeToo it's shit like this:

It's definitely legit, in the sense that he's a creep. The conspiracy theorist in me only questions if victims are being heard because they're speaking out, or if they're being heard because they have patrons with deep pockets that are using them as weapons against rivals. Patrons who themselves, are sexual predators.

I mean, victims have spoken for years. No one listened.

"Things have changed". I sincerely hope so...

But why? It's essentially a fundraiser and half the proceeds will go to keep women's rights intact when it comes to abortion rights. I've seen similar for breast cancer, animal rights, alzheimers etc. You think of a cause, there's probably been something similar.

I understand you're against that, but "disturbing"?

They’ve dubbed the flavor “Rocky Roe v. Wade,” a play on the famous flavor “Rocky Road.”

"Customers interested in the desert can purchase a pint for $9.50. The ice cream has been on sale since Aug. 13 and will be available for purchase until Aug. 26.

Other flavors are available during the sale, including Brown Butter Almond Brittle, vegan Chocolate Sorbet, and Honey Vanilla.

Half of all proceeds will benefit NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon, the organization said." -snip

You don't see how someone who feels abortion is murder could be disturbed?

Over the name "Rocky Roe v. Wade", no, I don't. If it was something like "Chocolate Fetus Fudge", sure; then I would because the attempt at vulgarity is obvious. But Roe v Wade is a legal case, why be triggered by that unless you're just pearl-clutching.

Personally, I found the name both hilarious and clever, bringing awareness right to the point of the fund raiser, ie Women's Rights.

You can't see how someone who finds it to be murder would find an ice cream named after the case that made said murder legal would find this disturbing? Okay.
