So what will get more coverage: The Trump/Gianforte thing over the reporter or this:

Anyone care to hazard a guess?

Immigration, a.k.a "indentured servitude."
This professor does a good job of outlining how the left has failed the immigrant worker. Underpaid, overworked, in constant fear of losing their jobs and being kicked out of the country.
And you never, ever hear any of that in our political debates, in the news, or in mainstream rags. Makes one wonder if the left supports migrants at all, as people, instead of a faceless resource to be expoited for the "global economy" (Code word for those who benefit most from wage slavery..)
That's part of it.
You should read the article, the writer makes some points I never considered. And he provides references, charts, and other proof of his statements.
For example, why do we only hire from third world countries, or countries with a population used to deferring to authority? We never bring in Australian dockworkers or Swiss technicians.
Why do you never hear about immigrant labor unions?
Why is the national conversation only about whether we should stop immigration, or have open borders?

Well immigrants lower wages in all fields even high end ones. That’s why they bring Jamaican, Filipino, nurses Indian executives
Shouldn't Republicans be all for it, then?
Trump profited off illegals as much as anybody.
Is this hardline anti immigration stance just theater? A form of reverse psychology, to ensure the public is obsessing over walls, and not working conditions?

It's hard to figure out what Trump truly believes.
I think Trump has legitimate protectionist convictions tbh, his entire shtick around tariffs and his corporate tax cuts is based around the US beating the foreign competition, though I think he's mistaken in the former and correct in the latter. An argument could be made his border policy is also based on protectionist principle, ie. protect the jobs of Americans from non-Americans.
I also think he has legitimate anti-PC convictions and anti-fake news media convictions, seeing as that's something probably very personal to him given him being on the receiving end of that shtick numerous times.
On other things it's obvious he doesn't have too strong convictions. Take criminal justice for example, if meeting with Kanye can tempt him into overruling Jeff Sessions (who he appointed) on criminal justice reform, it's clear he's mostly delegating that one to other people to toe the party line.
He doesn't care about fake news stuff, in fact, he's very much in favor of it when it benefits him. He is just against people criticizing him.
The anti PC stuff is also horse shit, he and people like him just want to be able to spout racist and sexist idiocy without having to worry being taken to task for it.
You're probably right about his protectionist convictions, though, it's one of the few things he's been consistent about pretty much his entire life. I remember seeing interviews from like the 90's complaining about China taking advantage of us and what not.

Nah, this is a simpletons view of Anti PC stuff.
Which makes it even more hilarious seeing folk cheer it on.
But nah: that's not what Anti PC stuff is. Period. As was pointed out: even Bill Maher is anti PC.
