Whats your opinion of Dr. Manhattan then?

Mxy pretty much admitted his fear of him.

Didn’t read Metal, couldn’t stand the stupidity of it. What did Manhattan do?

Hang on, don't say a word.

I want to handle this.. trust me..

Ok, here it is:

Dammit.

The obnoxiously large image won't post properly.

Here's a damned perfectly reasonable link.

He doesn't outright say it's Manhattan, but he's presumably the architect he's talking about.

Manhattan hasn't officially appeared yet.

However, back in Action Comics #976, Mxy basically admitted that he wanted nothing to do with the big bad that is behind the whole 'Rebirth' fiasco(who we now know is Dr. Manhattan), and indirectly implied that this being/Manhattan is more powerful than himself:

Mxy looks like Cassandra Nova in the first two panels.

Which is idiotic if you think about it. It wasn’t too long ago that it was said there’s only one Mxy in the Multiverse. So every feats are done by the same Imp. The same Imp that wiped and recreated the DC Multiverse atleast once a week for fun.

Bringing Manhattan and the Warchmen verse in mainstream DC was idiotic on Geoff’s part. He should have just created a brand new character instead.

He should have just created a brand new character instead.

Which would have been oddly apropos, him making a Dr. Manhattan analog, Doc being an analog himself.

Indeed there is only one Mxy in all of fiction(established in the very same arc those panels are from.) Comics, cartoons, TV shows, etc. -- it's all the same guy.

That said, Manhattan is essentially being hyped as a Supreme Being analogue(which is why even Mr. Oz fears him), so I don't have a problem with him potentially being more powerful than Mxy. /shrug

I think the only reason I want Watchmen to stay separated was because I remember as a kid reading the whole Graphic Novel and how much I loved it. Was to young to understand it all, but one thing I got from it, was Moore wrote the story to have a beginning, a middle and an end.

Bringing them back to life in the mainstream, to me personally ruined the whole of Watchmen.

^^^Its what comics are, though, characters being taken up by other creators.
I get you not liking that (Moore sure as hell doesnt), but they're DCs characters.

It takes legitimate Supreme Being-level power to be on Mxy's level, in all honesty.

I've read posts on KMC about him, and I get that he is one of the most powerful characters. I guess I just always had a problem with him because he's always been more of a cartoon than a serious villain. I suppose that's a good thing, otherwise the DC universe would have been permanently killed off a long time ago....

That's the same problem quite a few people have with him, I can assure you.

Some don't like to think of Mxy as one of(if not *the*) most powerful beings in all of fiction because he's often portrayed as a cartooney 'goof' character or w/e... But he is.

I actually actually like Mxy because he is a cartoon character. He reminds me of old school Looney Tunes, Buggs to be exact. That to me, is the appeal.

There was an issue of Superman, just after the Byrne era when Supes had left earth.
Only Lex was left to defend Metropolis against Mxy.
The ending always worked for me cuz it Broached the reasons we -want- a character like this to be cartoonish/impose limits on himself:

For some reason I find it extremely funny that Howie Mandel as Mxy is cannon lol.

It's also funny that he can't seem to decide how to pronounce his own name lol
