What are the solutions to reduce America's Homicide rate?

Japan, fewer than 1 homicides per 100,000.

Australia, around 1 homicides per 100,000 people.

I won't use the UK's numbers because their homicide number is faulty:

"The crucial methodological difference is that a murder’s existential status depends on a conviction, not a body and evidence of foul play."

So we will leave them out.

The US is sitting 4.2 intentional homicides per 100,000 people.

How can we bring that number down to 2 out of 100,000?

What are some solutions?

Removing one incentive for murder might help. How many murders occur over some disagreement over a drug deal? Maybe if more drugs were legal there would be less deaths over that.

A lot of murders here in Chicago have to do with gangs, so perhaps drastically increasing the jail time for any gang activity as well as hitting them with heavy fines might lessen that.

You mean drastically reducing jail time and drastically increasing fines.

Jail time/prison time sucks. It's not effective.

Perhaps, yeah the money thing would hit them where it hurts. They live in utter shitholes yet buy the best clothes and need rims for their cars, etc.
