yeah, i guess i always felt genis was pretty overrated. for all the lip service he got at times, his 'omniversal' awareness really never had many practical uses, and was rarely shown to help in any combat situation. i recall a time in asgard where it helped somewhat, but is he going to see through zoom's time field in time to do anything about it? i'm not actually saying zoom wins btw--in terms of sheer power zoom is badly outclassed--more a question about the effectiveness of cosmic awareness in this type of situation. zoom should be able to beat on him i'd think, given his feats but genis should be able to take the beating most of the time and hit him, eventually.

In v3 CM series he was exploring his cosmic awareness learning how to harness but still wasn't fully aware (there are various instances); however, with the beginning of v4 (the insane genis vell arc) he was completely aware of everything which is what drove him to insanity, and by "insanity" i mean he just had extremist views toward creation which would actually help him in the battle. After that arc he only selectively used it in certain instances only whenever he needed. And when he didn't know some things it was attributed to the universe having space-time anomalies because it was recently rec-created (in which Genis had a hand). This was basically a plot-imposed reason for him not to be omniscient, that stipulation however, is not going to be present here.
When kree, shi'ar, and the skrulls allied together against genis he appears and says that he's aware of their every thought:

Aside from that, the implication is that Photon Genis > Insane Genis, as the former was essentially the stable/whole version of the latter -- and the latter has some pretty gargantuan showings. What's more, Photon has a scarce few(almost no) low showings to speak of... Which is nearly unheard of in this tier(and also makes it *that* much harder to argue against him.)

i agree zoom is not unbeatable--in a comic. in a forum setting he becomes something else. but again, i'm not saying he wins this--or sweeps at least--but it does sound an awful lot like zoom would fall under the space-time anomaly category that genis struggles with. his time field would certainly be unique. does genis have any feats of directly manipulating or sending his awareness through time?

Not that i know of. He has some minor time manip. abilities like when he summoned his past selves to the present timeline. There's also him knowing all actions and their consequences (remember he can see all the threads of the universe). So that's pretty similar to sending his awareness through time.

could be seen that way i guess. i'm just not sure the CA would penetrate zoom's time frame, and even if it did, it would have to be damn near instantly. i think if genis can withstand the beating he'd get at the outset, he would be able to figure something out. i'm just not sure if he could figure something out in time. imo it depends mostly on which showings you want to focus on for zoom, and just how much leeway you're willing to grant zoom and his powerset in a forum situation. so basically the same things that make any speedster in a forum setting a pain in the a$$ to debate for or against. 👆
