Proposed Gun Buy-Back Program for the US

I'm 100% for this.

Obviously, it won't stop violent crime or even reduce it because removing guns from circulation doesn't reduce violent crime in a noticable way, it just transfers it at best and creates more violence through black markets and trafficking, at worst.

But it's still contributing positively to the world a little bit better. Who knows, the dogs may create comfort or calmness in a home that would prevent a violent crime? Maybe it can indirectly help with violence that way.

Thoughts? Disagree with guns for dogs program?

I'm more of a cat person myself

Yeah, it can be a positive event. It would probably get 5-6 dogs adopted 😛

Dude is such a mangina he doesn't realise that the problem is we need more guns. Better yet, have more guns and more dogs. Give the dogs guns.

This is a copout that will just lead to more suffering.

That’s retarded.

What about the people that don’t like dogs but have guns? Regardless, a dog is an okay deterrent against home invaders, unless that home invader have a gun themselves. Then the dog is useless.

Like my guns, like dogs, but the gun is a far better deterrent.

A dog with dual automated assault rifle turrets on its back is even better!

But My Guns don't bark all night!?

Then they don't participate in the program. The people behind this program clearly do not understand the actual data and I point that out in the OP: they won't really reduce violent crime.

For me, it's more about getting those animals a home instead of euthanized.

I don't know how the data pans out on this point. I'd think that a gun is unseen and an invader wouldn't know. But an invader would know about your dog because of the barking.

Is there data on deterrence from a gun? I don't know how an invader would be able to tell that they would be invading a gun home.

Agreed. Get this into legislation, ASAP.

sickem boy 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠

But what about all those K9 Miss fires that go off on small children?

Like with the Assualt K9's such as the Pit Bulls!?

Guns don't kill people. Dogs kill people.

We would need reasonable dog control. Maybe K9 barkground checks?

That poster is very clever and well designed.

Ever see a kid with a dog?

Nothing calming about that. 😂

You're f*cking racist. What about people who live in apartments that don't allow pets? What about people allergic to dogs?

You f*cking monster.
