Part of the issue is the amount of time they gave writers to do events back then. If it's been a while, go back and read COIE. The sheer amount of stuff happening in that event is mind-boggling, not to mention the dialogue. But it was 12 BIG issues, not these minimalist 6-issue farts that pass for events in the last decade or so.

Folks chill out. Old Man Logan didn't stomp Creed. He didn't even beat Creed. They had a long, multi issue fight where Sabes was trying to troll Logan. They both got licks in as usual. Afterwards, only one of them was stuck in a wheelchair though, and it wasn't Creed.

If anything, DP and Sabes are protected by said armor... seeing how they're still in one piece (most of the time), despite getting repeatedly slashed by the blades capable of cutting clean through metal harder than titanium, as if it was made out of paper.
