Is Hulk at his best as well?
By the way, I actually agree with you on Hulk, even if at times it seems like I don’t like the character. I actually love the concept (stemming from Dr Jekly Mr Hyde), and I think there’s a lot that could be done with the concept. The main issue I have with the Hulk is the people who debate for him, but that’s a different issue ...
Hulk at his best may very well be unstoppable by most.
Sometimes writers forget it (it’s too easy to just say ‘Hulk smash unfortunately), but the character is not just strength. He is much more.
For example, in regards to BFR, recall the time the Hulk broke through glass charged with coronal particles that was supposed to teleport him ...and it did NOT work!
If the Hulk was sufficiently angry, he’d unlock sufficient access to whatever it is that powers him and he could probably stand there and there’s nothing Magneto could do to him.
If I was drunk enough, I’d actually say the Hulk is a reality manipulator that is somewhat limited to only physical stuff, but every now and then he forgets that and it becomes impossible to teleport him or he goes into World Breaker ....
Kind of like how Superman (sorry Carver) is also not just some flying brick, but has psionic access to who knows what.
It’s just that most writers ...and their fans ...prefer to just focus on simple ‘smash’ stuff rather than exploring the VAST POTENTIAL of these characters.
Anyway - threadwise, and to your point, Hulk at his best is physically unstoppable, and in fact I wouldn’t get too close to him. He may just do something that would shock people (eg how he suddenly avoided the teleport).
In many ways he’s like Doomsday, and if you think you have the character stomped he may very well pull something that will ruin your day something proper!
There’s a lot more to that character than has been tapped, and if he could get a good intelligent writer the stories would be instant classics.
