Mass disappearance scenario question

If all humans disappeared above/below the equator who’s left in a better position, the survivors below or above the equator, respectively? Which country or countries would emerge as the new world powers? Who would take over what? Who’d have the better resources to exploit? Just wondering.

Southern:

Brazil and Brazil by a comfortable margin.

Second place would be Australia.

Brazil has a bit more military spending than Australia. But they have many more people and a much larger economy.
