Create from nothingness?

So I was reading Dark Rendezvous the other day, and this quote got me wondering-

“I want …” Yoda held up the flower in his hand and took another sniff. “I want a rose.”

“Be serious,” Dooku said impatiently.

“Serious am I!” Yoda cried. He bounced to his feet. Standing on the desktop, he was almost as tall as Dooku. He held the flower imperiously toward his former pupil. “Another rose, make for me!”

“The dark side springs from the heart,” Dooku said. “It isn’t a handbook for cheap conjuror’s tricks.”

“But like this trick, do I!” Yoda said. “The trick that brings the flower from the ground. The trick that sets the sun on fire.”

“The Force is not magic. I can’t create a flower out of thin air. Nobody can—not you, not the Lord of the Sith.”

Dooku basically states that it is impossible to create something from nothing- this is apparently beyond any Jedi or Sith that Dooku knows of. So my question- is there anyone in the mythos who CAN do so? Legends or cannon is fine.

The Ones of Mortis.

Talzin.

Debatable, she uses spirit ichor to do it so it’s not technically from nothing. Dooku knows of her ability as well, she’s used it to get him a drink, so he must not count her ability either.

Valkorion.

Judging from the quote it seems to be excluding the force. IE gathering of energy to create something. Which follows the laws of what we know. He's basically saying that no one can create molecules out of nothing.

Following that, that would exclude anyone who was just transfering energy or gathering energy to create something. You'd be pressed to find too many comic characters like that, let alone Star Wars characters. I think any example of molecular manipulation would be relevant in that case. Close enough.

*Technically* I suppose you're right. However, I'd still say these are some of the closest approximations of 'ex nihilo' creation we've seen in the franchise:

...Without getting into cosmic/abstract-esque beings like The Bedlam Spirits, The Ones and Celestials, at least.

Tbf, Dark Rendezvous was published back in 2004. Therefore, the events of TCW(which came out yearS later) obviously wouldn't have been a consideration/reference for Stewart when he originally wrote the novel. Heck, Talzin herself didn't even appear until, what? 2011? Just saying. /shrug

"A shape! I've thrown a shape! I've invented form! I've invented mass! Oh, cleverest Tilotny!"

"Nothing was before Tilotny made it be! How can shapes have shaped themselves without Tilotny?"

Talzin>Sidious and Yoda confirmed.

Obviously Dark Rendezvous came out years before TCW; and I doubt Filoni read it or really gave a shat about violating the law of conservation of mass.

Mind over matter.

DId the Ones even create from nothingness?

They had devices, IIRC.
