For those that think this will flop. What is your measuring stick that will determine that? Box office? Critics? Fan scores?

All of the above.

Specifics? So I can hold you accountable. I think critically this will do well and do well in awards. So what is a flop box office number?

Oh, gawd. Not this whole flop thing again. The only way this flops, if this performs poorly at the festivals. People are already calling Phoenix for that Oscar, including the best picture nod.

'Send in the clowns': Joaquin Phoenix is a real wild man (and Oscar hopeful) in newest 'Joker' trailer

It's mainly coming from Tweedledum and Tweedledee calling it a flop.

Anything DC has produced is an obvious and apparent flop. Deal with facts, boy. Do you honestly believe DC is capable at this point of producing a value product? I bet you cry yourself to sleep each night.

If you don’t know what flops are factually, just log off and do us all a favor.

Eons obviously trolling. Just ignore him.

Well the trailer is good.

But then again the Suicide Squad trailers were good, too.

So we'll just have to see.

Pretty sure this is Warner Bros and not DC.

You realize that, on the big screen, they're one and the same...?

As uninformed as ever, I see.

It's a DC movie made without much, if any, input from DC. Imagine if you brought a steak over to my house and I cooked it for you, but when it went awry, I blamed the issues on it being YOUR steak. It's not the cow's fault or yours that I ****ed up the steak.

I doubt it will be, but it can be a bad DC movie without it being actually made by DC. Last trailer looked good though, so we'll see.

The same way the Nolan’s Batman trilogy was a Warner Bros films and not DC.

Same with Sony’s Spiderman and Marvels.

Or Fox’s X-men

None of these films were Marvels and DC films. Pretty simple to understand.

You should probably learn the difference before you prove yourself to be an idiot.

Yes Marvel Studios is an independent entity later bought by Disney but still running as its own entity, much like Lucasfilm.

Theres never been a DC Studios. Where DC themselves hire their own film exec and directors to help make their own films.

Because theyve been under Warner Bros reigns for such a long time theyve never had that kind of freedom.

As I predicted, Phoenix will get at least a nomination. IGN even pointed out that his role is Oscar worthy.

Joker will do insanely well. It's getting rave reviews so far. Above 80 on Metacritic. Possibly 100 M opener.

YouTube video

But I thought this was supposed to flop?

It's still never going to beat The Dark Knight.

How do you know? It's not even out yet, plus it's a totally different type of movie.

Shot by shot #Joker will be remembered for a long time. From Joaquin Phoenix’s pure physical skill to rich storytelling that reminds us how monsters are made when humanity fails. Give that man an Oscar 🤡.

Already has more 100 reviews than Black Panther did at the same point. However I expect Joker to be much more divisive.

Phoenix is at least getting the nomination for best actor.

Also has more 100s than Endgame.
