A villain but not a villain

Been thinking on who fits this category and I cant think of many people that does. A person who appeared as a villain but their purpose for doing what they were doing was "kind of" for a good cause. Example, Thanos during the Avengers movie... his purpose was to prevent people from starving or needing. He wiped out half of a planet civilization because the people on the planet was starving. Now there is enough food for each mouth on that planet. Plenty. Even though he did an evil act (killing), the planet is in a healthier state than ever due to his cause.

Does anyone in comics fits this. Their evil acts wasnt as evil as it was made out to be. He/she purpose actually helped. Remember, these are not selfish acts.

Also, please explain your answer.

Doom.

Why Doom? He seem selfish if you ask me. His goal is to rule over all, not help people.

So you've finally seen the Infinity War. Good 👆

And yes, Saint is right, Doom fits the category:

Explanation:

I ninja'd you, you slow Jay Garrick fan.

But you failed to stretch the page as I did.

Lord Carver gives bonus points for that.

Another villain but not a villain:

Cyclops
Magneto
Brainiac

The first two prob need no explanation. Brainiac does what he does to protect the civilisations and cultures he encounters.

What about Zoom?

Master of the World
- wanted to control the human population as were killing the plant and the human race due to the numbers....by sterilizing most of the population and then controlling who can give birth
-wanted to control the human population again...by destabilized human society and seen the wrong people get elected to increase itension as he feels the population needs to be culled.
-saved entire cities from Kang’s armies to protect them from enslavement and their deaths....but only ones he picked and hopes Kang culls the plant outside of his protective barrier walls
- during infinity war entire earth was going to be destroyed but master was going to save the planet from Magnus...by sacrificing an entire city to the skar demons
- was correcting global warming...by using the lands magical soul as a power battery to power his equipment
Etc.

Adrian Veidt ?

👆 he's trying to make everyone a betterrrrrrr heerrrrrooo.

Thawne, not so much.

Mr. Oz

In the original Secret Wars, Beyonder divided people into "heroes" and "villains" based on whether they were selfless and inclined to help/serve/protect others, or whether their motives were selfish and self-serving.

Magneto was placed in the "heroes" group, Doom among the "villains". Beyonder >> big Wakandan cat.

Catwoman maybe.
