Batman Vs Wolverine, arm wrestle

Just checked it out.

All kidding aside, it's obvious that both they and Wolverine slammed into each other by mistake, and it's really random to call this a strength feat. Unless Wolverine has something against pregnant chicks, trying to get away from a rampaging Hulk, so he just trashes their car, lol.

It's a good blunt force one, though 👆

It was an accident, yes.

But if Logan hadn't been braced for the impact (it's a reflex thing, really), then he either would've gotten run over or sent flying in the opposite direction.

The batcable vs. car feat is just as prone to getting nitpicked, you know it.

Anyway, let's move on. It's not like those two lack other feats.

Acting as a link between two passenger train cars, all while getting wailed on by superhuman Victor Hudson:

Stilt, as much as I enjoy your fan-fiction of off-panel super-reflexes and bracing, Logan getting hit by a car is not suddenly a speed feat and a strength feat. If Logan saw it coming, he would have dodged. There's a pregnant lady there trying to run from the Hulk, he didn't intentionally want to get hit by the car. Not being sent flying is not proof of strength - that's not how comics work, especially when you see the front of the car folded like paper in front of him. He's a guy with an indestructible skeleton, somehow I don't think the emphasis was on him outmuscling the car there..

You don't see me say Batman getting hit by Superman, or Grundy, or Wonder Woman, and not getting sent flying to the moon, as a bracing strength feat that he performed with his Bat-reflexes, do you? It's a durability feat. Same as Logan's. I bet Batman braced his muscles really hard here against this Bazooka!

I bet Batman's legs are monstrous here, as he takes The General's fist to his face and isn't send through the building!

Here's Batman's incredible hand strength as he blocks a blow from Superboy!

And a backhand from Superman [no adamantium skeleton, so his hands are damaged]

Batman's neck muscles are incredible as his head isn't sent flying from Grundy's back-of-the head-punch!

His abdomen muscles can withstand hits from Zoom!

*insert scans of Batman taking numerous explosions, clark, diana, j'onn, literally every character that is worth a damn in the DCU*
You can show a dozens of these for Wolverine, too. Or plenty of other characters.
This is a stupid game. That's not how any of this works.

You don't have to post anything involving Wolverine and a car just to 'counter' Batman stopping a car from moving. I'd rather you don't, than grasp so hard here.

Switching off from that circle-talk..

What you posted there is on-topic, although it's hard to discern how good that is, given that we don't see him succeed. A steel chain was apparently keeping them together there, so he had to replace it with his hands but...

Anyway, Batman swinging an actively resisting, flying, 600 pounds Man-Bat around on the grappler:

Keeps multi-ton stone from falling by grabbing it:

Resists jet engine suction by grabbing the edges [this is actually pretty insane, tbh]

Twists the wrist of Hawkgirl:

Holds open a crocodile's mouth [multi-ton strength]

Stuff like this.

Not that it's relevant to this thread what with the push/pull theme, but I always loved this, Batman kicking a motorcycle in half, lol:

Maybe you need to post the full scene, as I really don't see that as Bats stopping the car, tbh.

Or don't bother, I'll check out myself. Issue?

You see the tires literally screeching with smoke coming out of them, as Batman is obviously in a pulling motion...

The next page is the woman pulling out a shotgun and shooting Batman away, allowing them to leave.

Batman & Two Face #25 (it's the 25th issue of the Batman & Robin Series from 2011)

Thanks. Some good art in that book. The Bat-Signal page in particular.

He's in a pulling motion, perhaps trying to get as close to the car as possible, while it's towing him. Slowing it down at best... you've been trying to make it into something it isn't for a while, but I'm not buying.

In no way he stopped it like Wolverine -- aka the New Blob, apparently --- did with that truck car 😛 Both feats are easy to get taken apart.

Anyway, back on actual topic. You really believe that skill will play such a big part in the arm-wrestling contest? What are Bruce's feats in that department? It's not exactly rocket science.

It's a grappling gun. It's retractable - as you can clearly see the wire was tens of feet when he shot it, then a couple of feet when he was holding the car. He didn't need to pull to get close to the car, and that''s not the body position when you pull yourself closer either. The pulling was to hold the car still .. and the noise ... and the smoke.

Aaaanyway...

I obviously don't have 'skill feats' for arm-wrestling but I scale it up to Batman's general skill level, which I have as above Wolverine. I'd think he knows more about where to put pressure, positioning, etc. than Logan. But this is obviously subjective, as it can't be argued either way.

He'd Stallone him.

YouTube video

The car was just starting, not anywhere top speed. And the motion lines behind the car windows in the fourth panel indicate it stopped? Oh, wait 😛 Then there's the lack of the "vrroom" sound effect when they left Batman.

I think HF will play a bigger part in the arm wrestling match than any marginal skill advantage.

I imagine your troll face as you're typing this. You see the "Vroom" sound effect when they accelerate, then "Skrzzzzz" when Batman stopped it, as the tires are still trying to roll, thus the smoke and Batman in a pulling position. It wasn't at top speed, but that doesn't make it less of a ridiculous feat.

Batman will tell him he tapped Jean and Logan's wrist will go limp.

Bruce will probably spit in his eyeballs with anti-healing factor venom from his teeth, too.

Wolverine wins this, for me.

Stronger bones, stronger muscles, shorter arms, no fatigue...and as a veteran of the army and numerous bars, I'm pretty sure he's familiar with arm wrestling techniques (not as if it's a highly skilled MA lol).

In theory, I agree.

After looking at the Tom King run, I wonder if Batman has a healing factor.

Is it even physically possible to fix a broken spine the way he did?

Wolverine easily, it's not like Batman can lift Grundy over his head with one arm or anything... is it?

Wolverine gets dogpiled and lifts like 6 grown men with one arm and tosses them presumably wit the same arm
