He's not canonically inferior to Malak as the only supposed evidence for this is ambiguous at best when taken alone, but is categorically clarified when taking all of the quote from the source into consideration. It is referring to his virtual immortality being among the powers he gained from the Star Forge that were far greater than Kun's.The debate is over.
On the flip side, we have numerous sources indicating that Kun was approaching Sheev tier in terms of power.
Defeating Revan Reborn vastly pre-prime, Effortlessly oneshotting Arcann, effortlessly dominating the Outlander, handily besting the spirits of Arcann/Vaylin/The Outlander as a spirit (until the Outlander realized he was all-powerful in the location they were fighting in). For context, I’m not sure Dooku or Kun individually would even take Arcann for a majority.
There’s also something to be said about Vitiate’s exploits on Ziost, and why the implications of the feats performed there put him a layer or three above Kun and Dooku by the time he’s Valkorion.
Spoiler:
There’s also Valkorion’s ability to stop time, which as far as I’m concerned, this duo has neither has the power nor ability to counter.
