But why would you assume it's staffed with competent people?

As the whole point was that Woodbury weren't actually that skilled at operating the tank. They specifically CAN'T fire it's main gun, two clicks or not.

And that's firing. The driving is also substandard, and that was iirc over an open field.

In the TV show, a grenade took it out iirc. And Negan has grenades.

Why would I assume their not competent people?

I always assumed the Tank not being use to its proper use was due to pis.

Doesn’t matter if your driving is sub, a Tank is a walking mass of destruction that human can stand up too.

A mere hand grenade doesn’t have the power to stops Tank. Anti tank grenade yes.

"their not"... good God, Squall.

So basically it was mostly if not entirely useful as "hey you're ****ed, we have a tank. Please just run away, we totally know how to use it but uh don't want to hurt you, yeah that's it." So it was all bark, no bite. A mechanical LoB.

No, it still served its purpose, as it wrecked the prison's fence.

But against Negan and the Sanctuary, it's quite useless.

Because none of Woodbury were competent in it's use?

I mean, you might as well assume Wolverine is in Woodbury, or that Woodbury is staffed with ninja robots or something.....or that every member is a highly trained cross between Spetznaz, Green Berets and Delta Force.

But all they knew how to do with the tank was use it as a battering ram (i.e. crash it). And that took them five months to learn how to do...

Didn't they take out a sniper tower? Could have sworn they fired off the cannon, at least once..

No, they didn't.

Not in the comics.

Somebody obviously needs to play more CALL OF DUTY. 😛

The tank didn't really play a large role in the battle at the prison. Negan's camp also seemed to have a higher percentage of the population trained to fight.

BTW, WELCOME BACK, SCOT!!

Hey mate. How are you?

Stopped reading TWD a long time ago. Never knew they didn’t know how to drive said Tank. But know this. Even with rounds, a Tank is a dangerous weapon to have on the battlefield. If Negan and his team are equip with only m4’s or below, then they are useless against said Tank.

I also assumed since he made the thread, the Tank that’s being used is being operated by people that can actually use them, and their equipped with the normal weapons a Tank comes with.

Not only does a Tank hasn’t it’s main gun, but it also have coax, a 240, grenade launchers.

I love love to know what any foot soldier equipped with nothing but M4’s are Ak’s going to do to said beast. Remember, a Tank can fire its main gun accurately from close, if not more than 2 click away.

By the tine you realize that, your already dead.

The tank just isn’t as valuable as you are thinking. I do agree in general it is very intimidating but that’s if it has competent men at the helm. And even then like I said it’s only one tank. If they use a tank to defend Woodbury then any other battles outside that they can get swarmed and outsmarted by the Saviors. If they try to ambush the Sanctuary with the tank then Woodbury will be defenceless. And that’s giving the Saviors more of a chance than I think they had.

People will die on both sides they is guaranteed. But the Saviors overall are much more intelligent, ruthless and pragmatic. The governor would likely be more interested in raping one of the Sanctuary women or one of the women in Woodbury.

And since I can’t edit my message again I meant,

*and that’s giving Woodbury more of a chance

Negan would beat the trailer park trash out of the Gov. Michonne did him in so fast that I began to understand why they needed to drag things out with him in the TV series. The Gov. was a punk without his goon squad.

The Saviors utterly stomp the Woodburians as a whole. The tank is almost completely irrelevant on an open field of battle, given the limited supply of ordinance it has, along with the extremely limited experience of its operators. Conversely, the Saviors are ALL extremely well-armed(FAR moreso than the Woodburians), and are organized/trained specifically for Guerrilla-esque warfare. The Saviors also have much greater numbers, and an abundance of grenades/explosives at their disposal.

Negan shitstomps the Governor individually.

Negan also made his troops into something akin to a cult around him....they'd fight to the end if needed.

Yeah, it doesn't matter if we use comics or TV series versions here - Woodbury forces get stomped by the Saviors.

Comic tank is almost entirely useless.

TV tank is vulnerable to nades.

Negan ends up Lucilling the Gov when he realizes Phillip is too deranged to being kept as a pet after the saviours pummel them. He'd probably like it too.
