He wasn't concerned about the fall, he was trying to get back in quickly before Rogue killed Danny. Rogue fought IF and beat him but IF was holding back. She crushed his rib cage and was about to finish him off before Luke jumped in.

And keep in mind, this was in an enclosed space. No room for Rogue to use her speed and maneuverability in the fight. It was a slugfest and she owned him.
