Imagine having the hubris of being a writer who has never created anything meaningful, reading the works of revered, massively popular and successful writers and thinking "I can do their stories better than they can".

Bonkers.

I hope you're not referring to the Witcher novels?

Because those books are shit and the author was mogged in his own setting by a bunch of writers who never created anything important before in a video game. 👆

Never read them but if the massively popular Drizzt series is any indication of fantasy tabletop d&d nerd tastes, they probably really are shite.

Pretty accurate yeah. 👆

They're decent enough. Not particularly well translated in parts though. They are also Infinitely better than the botchling that is the show.

That may be true. I never even finished season 1 and didn't think it was very good back then, though I liked Cavill well enough as Geralt and the fight scenes were pretty cool.

He's been the only person trying to keep the show remotely close to the books. Here's to how they'll absolutely butcher it now he's away.

Well, we already got a taste of what it'll be like once he's gone with that abomination of a prequel thing they made a while back. I couldn't even make it through a single episode before I gave up on it.

Haven't watched it. Never will. Although I read the Vesimir animated film is supposed to be very good.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is good. Enjoyed that. 10/10 compared to the show.
