Yes, Alderaan’s destruction is one, but if I recall it correctly the Empire tried to cover it up and even the Emperor publicly expressed his grief for the loss. Still when the emperor died rebellions started everywhere. It makes sense for us readers to know the true nature of Sidious and the empire and antagonize him, but why would your average citizen decide to rebel against it?
