I agree that Hela could beat Steppenwolf. But Ares is a huge problem.
1. He can control metal which effectively renders Hela useless.
2. He can fly and teleport
3. He has lightning powers
4. Hela isn't on Asgard which makes her weaker and can weaken her rejuvenation ability.
5. Ares has power of fire and heat. He disintegrated WW's instantly. What type of level of heat can do that?

At the least it would be a stalemate.
