I don't think anyone who hasn't fought or trained under Palpatine directly really understands how powerful he is though. Luke just telling Tionne about Sidious doesn't seem to cut it.
That being said, Oneness Jacen is clearly supposed to be pretty godlike, and probably the most powerful non-anchorite Force user in Star Wars save maybe Sekot (and maybe even including Sekot).

Thanks. Still not sure if he can defeat the Emperor though - he's much more masterful and versatile - but I don't blame people for thinking he can. My gripe was more with the fact that some consider him to be able to take on a hundred Palpatines, which I don't see at all.
