Not sure what is going on in Florida, it's either corruption or incompetence. Brenda Snipes office mixed up bad provisional ballots with good ones and tried to hide this fact from Republicans lol. Was it a high number? No, but it's still shady.
This is the same woman who was successfully sued by the ACLU in the past for similar shit.
Either she's covering up corruption or covering up incompetence. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume the latter.

What is interesting how the dems numbers go up in the recounts. Shows quite a bit of corruption from Floridian republicans. Despicable. They have not gotten any better after the presidential debacle from that election they stole. Corruption.
I still don't understand why we don't have all electronic voting at this point.

And I disagree that those studies hold any validity.
Oh boy.
When you state that in the face of this fact:
"...the percentage of cross-party voting in 2016 wasn't unusual compared to historical norms."
Anyone can tell you are unwilling to have any sort of conversation. You're just here to crap your factually incorrect opinions on us.
So, with that...I tell you:
To the trash-pile you go! I ignore idiots who are wastes of space. Sorry, you're just too stupid to be worth discussing politics with.

I could talk to you about the difference in favorability ratings making the cross from Sanders to Trump more of an anti Hillary vote, along with other factors. As I said though, I never mentioned cross party voting, it’s not relevant in this instance because the drastic split between Trump and Hillary is more likely to make people stay at home, not switch sides.
Anyone who thinks though that turnout is not important especially when taking in conjunction with voting intention isn’t worth talking to. If you cannot even accept that a study which cannot possibly take turnout into account falls short of definitive proof, you’re not worth listening to either.
But do please run from the debate. Next time just remember don’t start a battle if you can’t fight the war.

Democrats flipped nearly forty (could be more) House seats—many of them in districts Trump won by double-digits—flipped seven governorships, and lost only two Senate seats in one of the worst maps Democrats have faced in decades. Not to mention the fact that Democrats broke several unified state governments and flipped hundreds of state legislator seats. And in the states that actually matter in 2020, like Arizona, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc.—Republicans were embarrassed. These are states (particularly the Midwest) in which Republicans were acutely nervous about, and the results ended up reinforcing their fears; Trump’s grip on his electoral successes in ‘16 are slipping.Like, guys, Democrats picked up the most seats since ****ing Watergate. This was a wave year by any reasonable person’s measure, so please stop with this excruciatingly annoying defeatism that’s become ubiquitous in liberal corners. We did very well. Trump has been thoroughly repudiated, and his tantrums in the day’s following the election have made it obvious that even he knows that.
Also, a good case-study of gerrymandering effects can be found in North Carolina, where the state’s House popular vote barely went for Republicans, and yet, the Congressional delegation remained at 10R-3D. Perhaps gerrymandering as a whole has been exaggerated as a reason for gridlock, but they’re definitely not nonfactors by any stretch of the imagination.
The election was a referendum on Trump no doubt, that fact that if could have been harder doesn't dispel that it's still a referendum of Trump, the Party of Trump and his cultist. We'll see what happens in the next two years as Democrats have way more to lose in 2020 if they pull any shit/nonsense from now until then. Now is not the time to become complacent and assume the votes will just pour in because Trump's a turd, now is the time to see what worked and what didn't work and focus on what works, going balls out.
Arizona looks like it's another win for Dems and we'll see in Florida. That one I highly doubt, but still, it being that close is still a telling.
Originally posted by RobtardOh, I'm definitely not advocating for complacency, I just think that we should be grateful for a very successful night. The true test is nominating someone who can beat Trump in 2020, and I think we have a good chance of doing that. There's a nice batch of electable Democrats out there, and there'll be no shortage of them in the primary field, that's for sure, lol.

Yeah, Florida will be going for Scott. But at least we have a bisexual vegetarian atheist who'll piss off conservatives for the next six years.

That's definitely the kind of woman I can get behind. Good for her.
Edit - Phrasing. I know. The original stays to forever capture my stupidity.
