I once had a job interview, the appointment came by mail, the letter had the address and phone number of the place in question. When I got to the address, it was a piece of wasteland, then when I phoned the number the automated voice came on telling me that the number wasn't recognized, never heard from that place again. Best explanation is that the letter was for a version of me in an alternate Earth but I got it instead, which means the other me never even knew about the interview, poor guy.

The false job offer. May have been a prank.
An acceptable answer if anybody knew about me applying for the job, which nobody did. It could have been for a prank TV show, but no-one approached me afterwards asking for permission to use the footage. A more likely answer is that the letter was sent out with the old company letterhead on it with the old address and number on it, probably happens every so often.
I always remember the episode where these kids have moved to a new town and some other kids invite them to play hide and go seek in a cemetery and they do and they say there is a ghost of an old man there and at the end of the episode the new kids see the old man and discover he's alive and the OTHER KIDS WERE THE GHOSTS!
Whaaaat.
