Resident Evil 3 Remake

RE2 was my goty last year.

This one, while it has a lot going for it, is entirely too short, and a bit cheap at times too.

That's fair, but again, wasn't that kinda how RE3 was viewed when compared to 2 even with the originals? We should've expected as much from this, in which case.

It might have been, I honestly don't remember.

In terms of sheer content though, they've removed so much from the game compared to the original that it honestly feels half-finished to me.

What's sad is that all the building blocks are there. Good graphics, good story, good characters for the most part (

Spoiler:
Nicholai
got done dirty though). It's like they had all the ingredients, but then only baked half of a cake. I mean, the half we got was amazing (particularly the hospital, which i loved), but it's still leaving me feeling like I only got half the cake I paid for.

It being somewhat outsourced can be blamed, sure, but that's a reason, not an excuse.

I've seen one site say that the

spiders
in the power station keep spawning until you turn the power on and zap everything. Anyone know if this is true?

Just recently turned the power on and went back. Can confirm it's not true. Still see them coming out of walls.

Also they're actually

Spoiler:
Deimos, not spiders. Else they'd look like giant tarantulas like in the original
. I'm surprised at Capcom they didn't bring them back still. I mean could you imagine those things in this engine?

Sorry yeah, I couldn't think of the name.

Yeah I ended up trying it today too. It's my least favourite section of the game.

On higher difficulties, I can understand why. With enough patience though, the power plant can be sped through without using too much of your inventory. I vehemently refuse wasting crap in there.

Tbh the dodge trivializes the game once you get good at it.

Final form Nemesis on the highest difficulties is unpredictable though with his spammy arm attacks and not knowing how many times you have to dodge them (some of which takes timely precision to dodge rather than just spamming the button) before he finally leaves himself open.

Yeah, he's fun. I'm looking forward to facing him in Inferno.

Oh, whenever you die on Inferno, choose the go to main menu option and then load whatever your last save was. That way your deaths and time from them doesnt add up on that run and you can more likely finish with S rank. S ranking Inferno is another achievement/trophy on its own.

Do you have limited deaths for S rank on Inferno??

Basically, you can't die any to get S on Inferno and hit "continue", or it'll give you a lesser rank in the end. For whatever reason, going to main menu afterward and loading your last save from there will make the game act as though your previous death and time accumulated during that attempt never happened, but only if you do it that way. The clear time required for Inferno S is under 2 hours.

There's the limited number of saves for Inferno too; up to five, so only saving before the boss fights is generally preferred, and there are no auto-saves like on the other difficulties.

Well that's nice. I'm going to start my Nightmare run tonight.

So am I the only one hoping they'll include some DLC updates for this game, like maybe the mercenaries mode that was in the original and stuff before they just quickly move on to remaking RE4 to cashin as recent rumors suggest?

The Resistance multiplayer for this will be getting continued support at least; is getting Jill as a survivor this week and another one next month, June will apparently have a new map, etc, so that's cool.

But give the main game more of that kind of continued support/added content too. With how not everyone's happy with the base game here (to put it lightly), I don't want the RE3make to be remembered this badly. Maybe they'll increase fan confidence in an RE4make if they give this remake the rest of what it deserves first.

Yeah, they should give us Carlos in the CT and some costumes for free at least.

Beat it in 3.5 hours lol

I enjoyed the game, but it's very unambitious and doesn't really build on anything from 2. Also extremely short. Overall, not really as good an experience as 2 was.

And not even a random generated Tyrant to hunt your ass. Making Nemesis completely linear and not like Mr X is so stupid. They still make him do some pretty awesome stuff here but hot dang.

Agreed, what a disappointment. 👆
