Maybe.I was referring to his conclusion that Russia wanted to depower the US. Divide us.
Part of that could be electing a piece of shit like Trump? Is that your point?
Ultimately don't know why Putin wanted Trump, just that he did. As I said though, I suspect it's because he thinks Trump is [more] easily manipulated. Be it that he thinks Trump's a fool and/or he has some leverage over Trump or something entirely else. Not sure.
The dividing thing also makes sense. As does the "look how America's democracy really isn't a democracy' angle works in Putin's favor too, considering even Russians know their own elections are a farce.
Made me chuckle, oh Trumpers...

The thing is, if Putin wanted Trump to win I don't think it had anything to do with "I'm in cahoots with this guy so I want him to win" or "I have stuff I can blackmail him with, pee pee tape! So I want him to win".
I think it was "I want to cause as much chaos in the USA as possible." And of course Trump winning would achieve that. If that was Putins goal...we're letting him achieve it. We're obsessed with Trump possibly colluding with Russia, we're obsessed with every single thing the man does or says. Pearls have been clutched so often I'm shocked they haven't been squashed into dust.
Hell this entire nations attention was captivated over the saga of...poor whiny Jim Acosta getting booted. That was big news. The way people react to Trump is far more embarrassing than anything he could ever possibly do.

Wait a minute...
The Russian elections are farcical? No, seriously. I thought that was just a Westerner propaganda talking point used to undermine Putin's administration in literally the same exact way people are accusing Putin of trying to undermine the US Government?
I say that because independent research has demonstrated that Russians overwhelmingly support Putin (Gallup).

Wouldn't surprise me if Putin is largely loved by the masses, doesn't mean their elections are legitimate. Putin can't lose regardless; he's rigged it so.

If the Trump using his businesses to launder US money for Russian interests turns out to be true, I'm going to laugh at you.

If he laundered then so be it...the authorities should take the appropriate action. As of now, with all the information we have available, my opinion is still that Trump was the best candidate to want to win if the goal was to create chaos.
IF that was his goal then we've all done his work for him.

Dude...you make no sense.
Why do you need to rig an election when the electorate approves of you by over 80%? You don't.
You can't just hand wave their clearly legitimate election of Putin. He's very well-liked in Russia. He doesn't need to rig the election.
I will tell you in very clear terms: "Putin rigged the elections to get elected" is a western propaganda talking point intended to de-power and de-legitimize Putin's presidency. And according to Gallup's polls, the very unfavorable view of Putin in Western countries is specifically due to that propaganda. You're spewing Western Propaganda that is very easily proven false by American pollsters. 👆
Don't be like Trumpers.

Correction: Trumpers did Putin's work by supporting and electing Trump 🙂

He rigs it so he won't ever have any real competition, high and low. He's paranoid of losing control.

I don't get your point. You linked to an article about a lady who thinks she's the best candidate in Russia to beat Putin but admits she doesn't stand a chance. And she's extremely and openly critical of Putin. And she compares her celebrity appeal to Trump, too. She's also liberal, as she puts it.
And she's not dead.
How does that prove it is rigged? I'm reading this as you making a strong case for why it's stupid as hell to think the system is rigged in Putin's favor.

all i could find is he was caught rigging the 2011 election
https://www.businessinsider.com/eu-court-putins-party-rigged-the-2011-russian-elections-2017-6
with the propaganda campaigns we know russia is capable of it does seem pretty pluasible that the last election/favourability was rigged too.
