I just feel like you're proving my point, tbh. No offence intended.
A lot of Asians used to accept it and others didn’t know the history behind it.
I grew up in a time where it was accepted and Asians didn’t mind. I used it a few times when I was younger and nobody took offense. I think public opinion turned once people started to research the history behind it’s origination. We now have info that people didn’t have access to other than what was taught in the history books.
I grew up thinking Columbus was a great explorer and a hero but he was actually a scumbag.
Similarly your Asian friends may accept this word but they wouldn’t if they knew that it was to infer that Asians were inferior to the European.

And that's the funny thing, they do. Because when I've asked them about it, the history always comes up (and don't think I'm grilling them; I get asked a ton of weird shit about Ireland). Now, it might be a thing where they're all somehow massive outliers. Or it could be that people from certain asian countries have a different opinion of the word than others do.
I'm not defending the word or its intent. If it's offensive to some people, I'm not gonna be a smart arse and say it around them to get them going. I just had my interest piqued by the contrast that exists between the various people in regards to the word.

Well, how long until Superman gets his powers back? We thinking a year, maybe two before he regains his power and is back being Superman?By the way, I can't stand this whole "Superman, Batman is title that can be passed to other people!!!!!111" thing.
Passing out titles is writers being lazy/untalented and stealing status instead of earning it. But it never matters -- he'll always be "Jon dressed as Superman" instead of "Superman". Same way it will always be "Sam as Cap" instead of "Captain America" etc.
