Just imagine Hajimi No Ippo from a feminist perspective.
Date Iji isn't the courageous samurai taking on the invincible Ricardo Martinez at 30 years old. Instead he's an asshole who can't accept his better days are behind him, and sees his wife as nothing more then a trophy and stay at home mom who is forced to live with the consequences of his childish ambitions.
